The Texas Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (TSVES) – formerly the San Antonio Vascular Surgical Society, had its first meeting in 1984 and was incorporated in 1985 as a non-profit society “organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes.”  Its stated purpose is to “enhance the skill of physicians and medical personnel by presenting medical and surgical information essential to maintaining the highest standards of patient care in the vascular surgical community.”
 
For the past thirty years, the TSVES has presented annual academic programs designed to allow interchange of ideas among surgeons with a primary interest in the practice of peripheral vascular surgery.
 
The TSVES represents the vascular surgeons of Texas and encourages all those within the state to actively participate in the organization.  It is recognized as an official regional vascular society by the Society for Vascular Surgery and is represented at the time of their annual council meeting.
