          Dear Members and Friends,

The Annual Fall Meeting of the Texas Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (formerly the San Antonio Vascular Surgical Society) will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, Lost Pines, Texas.

Our list of distinguished speakers is great, and this year it will expand with the invited speaker Dr. Richard P. Cambria.  Dr Cambria is a past president of the SVS and the NESVS.  He is Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.  He is the Director of the Center for Aortic Disease at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  Dr. Cambria is a world renowned expert in the management of complex thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms and carotid disease.

Our meeting will be on Friday October 24th, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa just outside of Austin in Bastrop, Texas.  The following morning at 9am we will have our regional SOVONET (SOuthern Vascular Outcomes NETwork) meeting.  We encourage all members of SOVONET and those interested in participating in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) to come to the meeting and learn more.

A dinner has been planned for Friday evening at the hotel.  The

meeting registration will begin at 7:00 a.m.

We hope everyone will consider presenting and encourage resident

and fellow participation.  A resident/fellow competition, with a monetary

prize, will again be an integral part of the scientific sessions.  Abstracts, in

MS Word format, are due to me at the e-mail address below by August 1,

2014.  They should be no longer than 250 words and for standardization

should follow the Journal of Vascular Surgery formatting.

We will also hold our annual business meeting, and I strongly

encourage (members only) all to attend.  Please consider staying

overnight at the hotel during the meeting by using our Society’s room

block.  Further details to follow regarding hotel reservations.

Don’t forget annual due of $100 is payable each year at the fall

meeting or mail it to the address below.  If you are not a member,

would like to join us or know of someone who would, either emails

me at MAtkins@sw.org or Zenaida at (210) 657-0401

ZenaidaLee@att.net.  We would be happy to start your

            application process.

On Saturday, October 25th at 9:00 a.m., we will have a meeting of the

Southern Vascular Outcomes Network (SOVONET) in conjunction

with the TSVES.  We encourage all SOVONET members participating
