SVS Statement on Vascular Registries
SVS acknowledges the ever-increasing importance of high quality outcomes data collection and associated quality initiatives. In this regard, the Society is working on behalf of its members by expanding its activities in the following manner:
- SVS will continue to support its Carotid Vascular Registry at participating sites.
- SVS will begin work this fall with the American College of Surgeons on a vascular module for ACS NSQIP.
- SVS will continue its advocacy efforts with CMS and AHRQ on national reporting requirements. SVS is monitoring efforts to develop regional vascular registries for benchmarking and quality improvement. The Society is interested in creating a national coordinating committee if this concept matures.
- The SVS currently does not have a business relationship with the M2S Patient Safety Organization or the M2S Pathway registry product.
- SVS will continue its participation with the Surgical Quality Alliance (SQA) and the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Carotid Stent Facilities (ICACSF) quality initiatives.
