2008 SVS Membership Demographics

SVS strives to find ways to extend its impact by making better use of the broad range of members’ backgrounds and contexts. To that end, a demographic survey was mailed and emailed to SVS members in 2008. The information contained below is a composite of the results. Of the 2,800 SVS members in 2008, 1,026 completed the survey. The responses were added to existing data SVS already had in its database. The process did not follow strict scientific principles in assembling these data so they represent a general overview of membership, but not a scientific sample. The demographic survey will be mailed and emailed annually to members who do not complete it in an effort to secure responses from the entire SVS membership.
