News from the SVS
The 2009 Vascular Annual Meeting®, held June 11-14 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, continues to be the leading source of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit through educational sessions presented by top
vascular surgeons.
Vascular societies meeting in conjunction with the Vascular Annual Meeting include the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound.
Hybrid OR Suite
New in 2009, the Vascular Annual Meeting exhibit hall will feature a complete Hybrid OR Suite, which is usually only displayed at large trade shows such as the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting. Philips is teaming up with Skytron to create this versatile hybrid operating room, which allows you to perform open and minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures in the same room. The Hybrid OR Suite will be located in Pavilion F of the Exhibit Hall F.
Poster Competition
A moderated poster competition will take place at this year’s Vascular Annual Meeting. Accepted abstracts selected by the SVS Program Committee for poster presentation will go through a two-round judging process with the final round and prizes being presented on Saturday, June 13.
Video Presentations
The 2009 Vascular Annual Meeting will have a new option for presentation. During each plenary session of the Vascular Annual Meeting there will be a five-minute video presentation of an open or endovascular procedure by a SVS member or sponsored guest, followed by five minutes of comments and questions from the floor.
Opening Reception
Start your visit to the Mile High City by attending the opening reception on Thursday, June 5 at 5:30 pm in Exhibit Hall F.
Exhibitor Education/Training Pavilions
SVS will offer exhibitor sponsored education and training sessions in pavilions located in Hall F of the Colorado Convention Center. Participating companies include: Gore & Associates, Inc. (Thursday through Saturday) and Cook Medical (Thursday and Friday). These pavilions will be open throughout the week at designated times. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for these sessions and onsite registration also will be available.
Cyber Café
The Cyber Café will be located in Hall F of the Colorado Convention Center. Attendees may use the Cyber Café to check or send email and stay in touch with the office, locate meeting attendees, exhibiting companies, or print a boarding pass for the trip home. New this year is a scrolling message monitor. The Cyber Café will be open during exhibit hours.
Simulcasting in Exhibit Hall
Attendees will be able to view plenary presentations directly at exhibitor booths. Simulcasting will take place during plenary hours when the exhibit hall is open.
Follow the Red Carpet
A red carpet will lead attendees from the plenary session room to the entrance of the exhibit hall. Visit the exhibits and support our partnering sponsors who are an integral part of the Vascular Annual Meeting.
Plenary Session Downloads
Professional attendees will receive a voucher for a flash drive during registration. They may redeem the voucher for the flash drive in the registration area. All plenary sessions will be available for downloading after the presentation at the Medtronic Vascular Booth, #501 in Hall F during exhibit hours.
