New Online Patient Resources for Your Practice

Earlier this year the SVS Communications Committee introduced 49 vascular health podcasts on VascularWeb.org. Some scripts specific to vascular diseases and treatments have been developed into text documents that are downloadable from VascularWeb.org in the Vascular Conditions, Tests, and Treatments section. SVS members are invited to use these briefings in their practices and offer them as a resource to their local media.

"The podcasts and briefings are great resources for vascular surgeons to use in their practices," said George H. Meier, M.D., RVT, FACS, SVS communications committee chair. "We encourage members to share these resources with their patients. They provide vascular surgeons with an additional way to supplement any discussions with patients on specific conditions and treatments. These online resources also are a great way to involve the extended family members of patients and reach a new generation early, such as their grandchildren, to further broaden the reach of vascular health awareness."

The podcasts are featured on iTunes in the health podcast section and on an SVS YouTube channel. They were made possible by a grant from Cook Medical.
