The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has released two new guides, one for physicians and one for consumers. A 60-page publication, "Preventing Hospital-Acquired Venous Thromboembolism," is designed to help hospitals and clinicians implement a quality improvement strategy. A 12-page booklet, "Your Guide to Preventing and Treating Blood Clots," is aimed at consumers.
