SVS Announces New Self-Assessment Program

SVS is pleased to announce immediate availability of the inaugural edition of the Vascular Education and Self-Assessment Program (VESAP 1).

Specifically designed to meet the self-assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery's Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program, VESAP 1 is also an invaluable aid for those preparing for qualifying, certification or recertification exams, or those simply desiring to remain current in the specialty of vascular surgery.

Residents and fellows will find it a useful study aid for their ABSITE and VSITE examinations, and interventional cardiologists, radiologists, vascular medicine specialists, and allied health care professionals focusing on vascular diseases can use the program to keep abreast of the current practice of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy.

VESAP 1 is the product of a distinguished Editorial Board selected for expertise in their specific content area. The Editorial Board reviewed and adjudicated questions submitted by more than 50 authoritative question writers, yielding a broad representation of current clinical practice.

Designed to be largely clinical in focus, VESAP 1 is composed of 255 multiple-choice questions with 133 accompanying images conveniently provided on a CD-ROM. VESAP 1 content covers the full spectrum of contemporary vascular surgical practice, including the diagnostic evaluation, medical, surgical, and endovascular management of patients with vascular disease.

Each question is accompanied by a discussion explaining the rationale behind the correct choice and references to relevant publications. Completion of VESAP 1 qualifies for 45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, which exceeds current American Board of Surgery MOC self-assessment requirements. In concert with the three-year MOC cycle, VESAP also will be updated every three years, keeping it current with the rapidly evolving field of vascular and endovascular surgery.
