Sixteen SVS members have volunteered to assist with the care of injured U.S. military soldiers being evacuated back through Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. The plan is being coordinated with Dr. David Gillespie, the vascular surgery consultant, Office of the U.S. Army Surgeon General. Gillespie praises the SVS for its patriotism in helping the country's military during this difficult time and will submit an abstract to report to the success of the program. Volunteers will be featured with their stories in an upcoming issue of Vascular Specialist.
