SVS Announces New Clinical Research Seed Grant Program

In recognition of the growing importance of clinical investigation in vascular disease, the Society for Vascular Surgery announces the Clinical Research Seed Grant program. It is vitally important, both to patients and to the specialty, that vascular surgeons play prominent roles in both industry and investigator-initiated clinical trials. The Clinical Research Seed Grant program's goals include the following:

PIEncouraging the interest and development of clinical trialists among the SVS membership, particularly junior members or those with limited prior experience as Principal Investigators.

PIProviding direct support for pilot clinical projects that have potential to develop into larger studies fundable by industry or governmental sources.

A financial award of $15,000 will be given for direct costs for a one-year period. For complete details on the program's scope and eligibility, visit www.VascularWeb.org. The deadline for applications is August 31, 2007. For more information, contact Sarah Murphy, Research and Standards Manager at 312-334-2305 or email vascular@vascularsociety.org.
