Gore Launches the "Ultimate SAAAVE"

The "Ultimate SAAAVE" public service announcement (PSA) was developed to help educate the public about the SAAAVE Act, recently passed by Congress. The "Ultimate SAAAVE" PSA features "Miracle on Ice" U.S. hockey team goalie and gold medalist Jim Craig who urges those who have smoked, are over the age of 65, or have a family history of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) to understand the causes, symptoms and available treatments for AAA and take explore the new reimbursement benefit available to qualified, at-risk patients enrolling in the Medicare system. Jim Craig lost his father to AAA and is very passionate about this topic.

The "Ultimate SAAAVE" PSA is available in 15 second and 30 second television and radio spots and is also provided in multiple formats. Through the "Ultimate SAAAVE" campaign, Gore is committed to raising awareness of this deadly but still very treatable disease.

With simple screening more cases of AAA will be detected earlier and will allow for appropriate medical intervention. The PSA refers viewers to patient resources found on the SVS Web site, www.VascularWeb.org.
