In 1986 a group of forward-thinking vascular surgeons assembled in New Orleans to chart the course of a Foundation dedicated to supporting the career development of young vascular surgeons. Although the name of the Foundation has changed throughout the years, its mission remains the same - reducing death and disability from vascular disease through education and research.
During the past 20 years the Foundation has been successful in supporting the research work of vascular surgeons, the establishment of surgical registries and the development of national screening programs. These efforts have further helped the Foundation maintain its leadership role in treating patients with vascular disease.
As part of the 2007 Vascular Annual Meeting, the Foundation's 20 years of excellence will be celebrated and applauded throughout various events.
