Abstracts Deadline: Jan. 7

The Society for Vascular Surgery is calling for submissions for presentation at the Vascular Annual Meeting June 5-8, 2008, at The San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, Calif. Please note: for the 2008 submission process only, research abstracts and all others will be considered exclusively for presentation. Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the official site, on the Vascular Annual Meeting page at www.VascularWeb.org. Paper submissions will not be accepted.

Policies for Abstract Submission

P Dual or Redundant Presentation/Publication Policy--The work represented in the abstract must not have been presented, published, or submitted to any other major meeting or journal. Any potential conflict with a previously presented or published abstract must be revealed at the time of submission. Failure to comply with this policy will result in the paper being rejected, or later withdrawn or canceled.

P Manuscripts--Manuscript submission to the Journal of Vascular Surgery for those accepted to present at the Plenary Sessions of the Vascular Annual Meeting is mandatory. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the Journal of Vascular Surgery prior to the meeting no later than June 2, 2008.

P Author Policy--It is SVS policy that either the primary author or one of the co-authors of each abstract must be a member of the SVS. If you or a co-author is not a member, a member of the SVS must sponsor your abstract. The SVS will send all correspondence to the primary author or member sponsor regarding the submission. Lifeline Resident Research Prize

Deadline: January 7, 2008. Residents submitting a research abstract may choose to be considered for the Lifeline Resident Research Prize, sponsored by the American Vascular Association (AVA). The prize consists of a $5,000 award and a one-year complimentary subscription to the Journal of Vascular Surgery. The prize-winning work will be presented at the Vascular Annual Meeting and will be considered for publication in the Journal of Vascular Surgery. An abstract and a complete manuscript must be submitted electronically via the official Vascular Annual Meeting submission web site by January 7, 2008.
