Student Recruitment DVD Unveiled

Most medical students who approach the SVS booth at career fairs say they don't know much about the field of vascular surgery. They are familiar with many other related specialties, but don't understand how vascular surgery is different. As a result, the SVS Communications Committee recently developed a DVD and brochure package to introduce vascular surgery to students and residents who have not yet declared a specialty.

The DVD features SVS members who discuss why vascular surgery is such a dynamic field and tell the viewer about its unlimited potential. Entitled Vascular Surgery--On the Cutting Edge of Your Career, the DVD is divided into four sections: Why Vascular Surgery?; Your Family, Patients, Career; Research Opportunities; and Vascular Training Opportunities. Links to medical career Web sites are also included. The DVD can be viewed on www.VascularWeb.org in the site's Residents & Students section.

If you are interested in distributing the DVD to students and residents, please call 800-258-7188 or e-mail communications@vascularsociety.org to order copies of it. There is no charge for the DVD and brochures.
