AVA Awards: Vascular Surgeon Scientists

Two awards are available through the American Vascular Association (AVA) and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award (K08) is for vascular surgeon scientists in the early stages of their research careers and will provide supplemental funding to an individual who receives the award. The purpose is to support the development of outstanding clinician research scientists who are committed to a career in laboratory or field-based research.

The Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) is for vascular surgeon scientists in the early stages of their research careers and will provide supplemental funding to an individual who receives the award. The purpose is to support the career development of investigators who have made a commitment to focus their research endeavors on patient-oriented research.
