ACS and SVS Hold Reception for Medical Students

At the American College of Surgeons' (ACS) Clinical Congress in Chicago, the Society for Vascular Surgery partnered with ACS to hold a reception for medical students on Oct. 9. More than 20 students attended and received a copy of the student DVD/brochure. The students used the opportunity to discuss careers in vascular surgery with SVS members.

SVS Members Ran in LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon to Raise Money to Fight Vascular Disease

On Oct. 22, Society for Vascular Surgery members, Dr. Ronald Bays, Mid Michigan Vascular Surgery, Saginaw, Mich.; Dr. Russell Becker, Michigan Vascular Center, Flint, Mich.; and Dr. Kevin Halstuk, Surgical Associates, Evanston, Ill., ran in the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon as part of the Vascular Disease Foundation (VDF) team. The goal was to raise funds for the VDF and to raise awareness about the importance of good vascular health.
