Program Overview
This course will help the vascular surgeon understand the business of medicine and expand his/her practice in today’s competitive market.

Learning objectives
Upon completion, participants should be able to:

1. Understand the basics for collection rates and denials as well as how to monitor your practice reimbursement.
2. Define the basic steps to negotiate with hospital administration.
3. Demonstrate an understanding for physician compensation and practice governance.
4. Discuss basic legal issues as they apply to the practicing vascular surgeon.
5. Understand the requirements, feasibility, and steps in starting an outpatient endovascular treatment facility and computed tomography (CT) imaging center.

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for vascular surgeons and practice managers.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit
The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The SVS designates this educational activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAPC Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Credit
This program has the prior approval of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) for 6 continuing education units.  Granting of prior approval in no way constitutes endorsement by the AAPC of the program content or the program sponsor.
