Program Overview

This program is intended to provide individuals with an understanding of clinical trials and specific knowledge of the clinical research process in the context of vascular disease management.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants should be able to:

1. Define the value of clinical trials.
2. Implement techniques for initiating and performing clinical trials.
3. State ethical issues relating to the performance of clinical research.
4. Understand the future direction of industry research and developments in vascular disease management and their planned evaluation by clinical trials.
5. Interact with industry sponsors to attract clinical trials to their facility.

Target Audience

This course is designed for vascular surgeons, trainees and research coordinators who are seeking to expand their knowledge related to the design, conduct, and evaluation of clinical trials.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit

The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The SVS designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
