Decisions are made at the Vascular Annual Business Meeting, held at the 2010 Vascular Annual Meeting, June 10-13. Applicants are notified of their application status by July 1, 2010.
Associate Membership is available to non-surgeon physicians who have a demonstrated active interest in the field of vascular disease. For this category, the following criteria will be considered in evaluating applicants:
A prospective applicant for Associate Membership must complete an application form that will be provided by the Secretary, and submit it at least four (4) months prior to the annual business meeting of the Society. Two letters of support from SVS members are required for the application to be complete.
If the application for Associate Membership is approved by the Membership Committee and by the Board of Directors, the name of the applicant will be presented to the Society at a regularly convened annual business meeting of the Membership for final action. A majority vote of those members present and voting will be required for election to membership. Any applicant who fails to be approved by the Membership Committee and/or Board of Directors, or fails to be elected by the membership, may reapply.
