CMS Proposed Decision Memorandum Regarding Clinical Research Policy

SVS recently commented on reconsideration of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Proposed Decision Memorandum regarding Clinical Research Policy. Because CMS received so many concerns during the initial comment period, the agency made clarifications to the memo and allowed organizations to again provide comments. These included clarification of "Usual Patient Care" as both routine clinical services and the clinical intervention/services under investigation, with identification of both as covered by Medicare under the clinical research benefit. Click here to view entire letter.
