 Vascular Health Activity Book

The Society for Vascular Surgery® wants to help teachers and parents inform youngsters about the health risks of obesity and smoking. An understanding of how the body works may encourage children to take care of their vascular health as adults.

The free, downloadable Vascular Health Activity Book for Children ages five through 12 features Blood Buddies who guide children on a learning journey. Through activities such as a maze, word search, penny board game, secret code, and coloring pages, children learn the importance of exercise, healthy eating, and not smoking.

What children can learn from this activity book:

  • How the vascular system delivers oxygen and nutrients
  • How to eat well and exercise for vascular health
  • How smoking and cholesterol damage the vascular system

National and State Teaching Standards: According to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards,

"accomplished health education teachers select, plan, adapt, and evaluate curriculum to ensure comprehensive health education."

This activity book may be applied to state and national teaching standards of excellence.
