2014 MOCK ORALS PROGRAM IS SOLD-OUT AS OF JULY 9, 2014. TO BE PLACED ON THE WAIT-LIST, PLEASE COMPLETE AND RETURN THE REGISTRATION FORM BY JULY 31, 2014.
The Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society is pleased to announce the Third Mock Orals Examination Session at the upcoming 38th Annual Meeting to be held in Coralville, Iowa (Iowa City), September 4-6, 2014. This session has been designed to prepare Candidate Members and Vascular Surgery Fellows in training for the Vascular Surgery certifying Examination. This is a Fellow centered educational activity that is scheduled to be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 prior to the commencement of the meeting.
The examination process intends to provide the Vascular Surgery fellows a real time experience to become familiar with Board Certification examination. The examiners will be from across the various Midwest vascular surgery training programs as well as those in practice. This will provide the examinees an opportunity to be examined by someone not from their training program. A feed-back session will provide the examinees an opportunity to interact with examiners and to improve exam taking skills. We urge you to avail this opportunity for your Vascular Surgery Trainees.
This year, the Mock Orals Session has been expanded to include Simulation and Surgical Skills Assessment Program. This promises to be a very popular program this year. And, given that the Society has had very successful first two sessions of this Mock Orals since its inception in 2012 in Milwaukee, we expect that this session will book very quickly.
For this year’s Session, we have a limited availability of 16 spots on a first come first serve basis. The program is open to both traditional 5+2 as well as to 0-5 residents who are in the 4th year of their training. Participation in the program will require nomination from the Program Director with a refundable deposit of $100.00. Failure to attend or if the Fellow withdraws from participation one month prior to the Session, will entail forfeiture of deposit.
The Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society has established sponsorship, which will allow the Society to cover one-night's lodging at the Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Canter for confirmed Examinees. A Housing Request Form will be sent with the confirmation packet, as well as additional information regarding the Fellows Dinner the prior evening and schedule for Thursday morning
If you or your residents are interested in participating, please complete and return the registration form by July 31, 2014 to the Society’s Administrative Offices to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by fax to (978) 745-8334. Again, a letter of from the Program Director is required along with the registration form. To access the forms, please point to the links below.
We look forward to your participation in this important and very popular opportunity for your Fellows.
