Fall Meeting - October 25,2008

Dear Members and Friends,

The date for our fall meeting is fast approaching and I wanted to again remind you of our upcoming events. The date of the Fall San Antonio Vascular Surgical Society Symposium is Saturday, October 25, 2008. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. The first session will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Abstracts for the meeting, in MS Word format, are due to me at the emails below by August 15, 2008. They should be no longer than 250 words and for standardization should follow the Journal of Vascular Surgery formatting. Obviously, they may be shorter and direct. Please annotate the abstract if it is to be considered for the trainee competition. Talks should be limited to 15 minutes in order to allow for our usual brisk discussion. CME will again be offered.

The meeting will be held at Omni La Mansión del Rio on the Riverwalk. Dr. Peter Gloviczki, Chief of Vascular Surgery at Mayo Clinic Rochester will be our visiting professor. A room block is available for those desiring to spend the night. La Mansion’s phone number for reservations is 210-518-1000.

I highly encourage you to present and facilitate any of your residents and fellows to participate. The trainee paper competition, with its monetary prize, will take place in the afternoon. The evening will be capped off with our traditional banquet. As is our custom, spouses and guests are invited. The fee for their meals will be due at the meeting and is $75.00. Please RSVP for the meeting and for your guests with the attached sheet sent either to the society’s return address or via our emails here.

Don’t forget annual dues are payable each year at the fall meeting. Our SAVSS website under the local/state society page of VascularWeb is continuing to proceed with construction! Thanks to Dr. Marvin Atkins, our new WebMaster. This should aid communication and will provide materials and information for meetings, applications and member identification.
