James R. Elmore, MD, FACS
2013-2014 President, DVVS
Welcome to an exciting year for the Delaware Valley Vascular Society. It is my pleasure to serve as your President for this academic year and would like to thank the Officers of the Society that just completed their duties with a special thanks to our immediate Past-President, Dr. Ralph Ierardi.
DVVS members just approved a new Associate membership category. This category is appropriate for Vascular nurse practitioners, physician assistants, vascular lab technicians, scientists or Podiatrists. The Membership Associate Membership Application will be available soon. Members in this category pay one-half the regular dues. I would encourage all members to seek out others on their office staff to consider joining at the Associate level as appropriate. I would encourage anyone who is interested in vascular disease to consider joining our society. Membership is easy, participation is open, and friendships are long lasting.
The spring Annual Meeting of the DVVS will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Union League in downtown Philadelphia, PA.
The format this year will include a panel discussion on aortic surgery, scientific reports and a dinner meeting with a talk presented by Dr. Ken Cherry from the University of Virginia. Please plan on attending the spring meeting in Philadelphia.
The Call for Abstracts is now available by visiting the 2014 Annual Meeting page
The DVVS continues to be dedicated to its mission of education as well as a gathering point for vascular specialists from the region. Over the years this society has served as an excellent means for all to share and learn both new and old clinical experiences as well as techniques.
I am excited to lead us in this endeavor over the next year. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to seeing you at the meetings.
