James R. Elmore, MD, FACS
2013-2014 President, DVVS
Welcome to an exciting year for the 2013-2014 Delaware Valley Vascular Society. It is my pleasure to serve as your President for this academic year and would like to thank the Officers of the Society that just completed their duties with a special thanks to our immediate Past-President, Dr. Ralph Ierardi.
We had great fall meeting in Atlantic City. At the spring meeting, Dr. Teruo Matsumoto was presented the DVVS Lifetime achievement award for his service to Vascular Surgery.
DVVS members just approved a new Associate membership category. This category is appropriate for Vascular nurse practitioners, physician assistants, vascular lab technicians, scientists or Podiatrists. The Membership Associate Membership Application will be available soon. Members in this category pay one-half the regular dues. I would encourage all members to seek out others on their office staff to consider joining at the Associate level as appropriate. I would encourage anyone who is interested in vascular disease to consider joining our society. Membership is easy, participation is open, and friendships are long lasting.
The fall Dinner Meeting of the DVVS will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Water Club at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City. The format continue to include Case Reports and a Dinner Meeting with a talk focused on Venous disease. Of course, the annual golf outing will be planned for those so inclined. Please plan to attend the fall meeting in Atlantic City.
The DVVS continues to be dedicated to its mission of education as well as a gathering point for vascular specialists from the region. Over the years this society has served as an excellent means for all to share and learn both new and old clinical experiences as well as techniques.
I am excited to lead us in this endeavor over the next year. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to seeing you at the meetings.
Sincerely,
James R. Elmore MD, FACS
