CHICAGO - Peter Gloviczki, MD, of Minnesota, was elected 2012-2013 President of the Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) on June 8, 2012 during the Vascular Annual Meeting® in National Harbor, MD.
Dr. Gloviczki is the Joe M. and Ruth Roberts Professor of Surgery at the Rochester, MN, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Chair Emeritus of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He also served as Director of the Gonda Vascular Center at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Gloviczki is the past president of the American Venous Forum, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, International Union of Angiology, Vascular Disease Foundation, the American Venous Forum Foundation, the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society and honorary president of the Society Francaise D’Angeologie.
Dr. Gloviczki served as Editor-in-Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Perspectives in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, and as Associate Editor of International Angiology and Angiology. He has co-edited five books including three editions of the Handbook of Venous Disorders, and the Atlas of Endoscopic Perforator Vein Surgery.
Dr. Gloviczki has an extensive clinical practice that includes all areas of vascular surgery - arterial, venous and lymphatic. He has special interest in aortic, mesenteric and renovascular surgery, aortic endografts, critical limb ischemic, reconstruction of large veins, endoscopic perforator vein surgery, surgery for varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, and lymphatic microsurgery.
With a medical degree, internship, residency, and fellowship from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, Dr. Gloviczki completed residencies at the Hospital St. Michel and Hospital St. Joseph in Paris as well as at Mayo Clinic where he completed his training in vascular surgery.
