CHICAGO – The Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) elected Vincent L. Rowe, MD, as a Distinguished Fellow during their Vascular Annual Meeting® held June 16-18, 2011 in Chicago.
The designation of Distinguished Fellow is bestowed upon an active, international, or senior member of the Society for Vascular Surgery who has made substantial, sustained contributions in two of three categories – research, service, or education. The application process requires three letters of support from SVS Distinguished Fellows.
Dr. Rowe is an Associate Professor of Surgery – Clinical Scholar Distinction – at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery. He is also the Chief of Vascular Surgery Services at Los Angeles County and University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is on staff at the following California hospitals: Acadia Methodist Hospital, Children’s Hospital of LA, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Huntington Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Rowe is board certified in general and vascular surgery. He is a registered vascular technologist and maintains membership in 10 professional societies.
Dr. Rowe has been involved in 21 research projects. He has served as a mentor and / or author for 57 journal manuscripts. Dr. Rowe has authored or co-authored 11 book chapters, provided 15 medical presentations, 22 postgraduate presentations, and 18 invited lectures.
Educated at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles Medical School, Dr. Rowe completed his medical internship and residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles and his vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.
