CHICAGO – The Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) elected Sean Patrick Lyden, MD, as a Distinguished Fellow during their Vascular Annual Meeting® held June 16-18, 2011 in Chicago.
The designation of Distinguished Fellow is bestowed upon an active, international, or senior member of the Society for Vascular Surgery who has made substantial, sustained contributions in two of three categories – research, service, or education. The application process requires three letters of support from SVS Distinguished Fellows.
Dr. Lyden is an Associate Professor and the Medical Director Clinical Supply Chain at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Board certified in general and vascular surgery, Dr. Lyden also has a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) degree.
Dr. Lyden has been the principal investigator or co-investigator on 39 research projects. He is a member of three editorial boards and four medical advisory boards. He is a reviewer for articles in seven medical journals. He has authored or co-authored 62 medical journal articles, authored two book chapters, been invited to present 119 medical lectures and four poster presentations, and has lectured or proctored 38 training courses. He maintains membership in eight medical societies.
Educated at the University of Cincinnati -College of Medicine, Dr. Lyden completed his medical training at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, and the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY.
