How to Apply

Complete the online application for candidate membership. For questions concerning completion of the online application, telephone 800-258-7188 or email membership@vascularsociety.org.

There is no application deadline for Candidate Members; applications are reviewed throughout the year. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance six to eight weeks after completion of the application.

Eligibility

Candidate membership may be granted to physicians who are currently enrolled or accepted into accredited vascular surgery residency training programs in the United States or Canada. The term of Candidate Membership is limited to a maximum of three years after completion of a vascular residency program or subsequent continuous academic or clinical training, after which candidates are automatically eligible for Active Membership.

The following information and materials are required:

• Academic history and postgraduate training details, including dates attended and degrees earned
• A letter from the program director of an approved vascular residency program stating acceptance into the residency program or current residency in vascular surgery. Either upload the letter as a Word document or PDF, or mail a hard copy to the mailing address noted on the online application form.

Benefits

• Candidate Members receive a complimentary meeting registration for the Vascular Annual Meeting®, which is held in June, and are invited to attend the annual Members Reception. However, members are responsible for their own transportation and lodging expenses
• Candidate Members will receive regular correspondence from the Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS), including the SVS Pulse and Vascular Specialist. Candidate Membership also includes a subscription to the Journal of Vascular Surgery®
• Candidate Members may not attend the Annual Business Meeting and do not have voting privileges

Admission to Membership

Candidate Members are approved throughout the year. There is no application fee for Candidate Members. Dues are $65 annually  are invoiced in October.
