Those in vascular surgery training programs automatically become SVS Candidate members. The annual dues are waived and it is not necessary to complete an application. If you have questions please email membership@vascularsociety.org.
Eligibility and Acceptance
The Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery (APDVS) program directors and coordinators are asked to provide their vascular trainees’ information annually in July. Trainees are then automatically enrolled into Candidate membership within the Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS). Candidate members are not required to pay dues and receive a complimentary subscription to the Journal of Vascular Surgery® while in training. Once enrolled, new member materials, including access to the members only site, will be sent to each Candidate member’s institutional email address.
The term of Candidate Membership is limited to a maximum of three years after completion of a vascular residency program or subsequent continuous academic or clinical training, after which candidates are automatically eligible for Active Membership once board certified. Visit the Active Membership page for additional information on the application process.
