Scope of Work

  • Monitor issues of special concern to members in the first five years of practice and advise
    Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) leadership on ways the Society can better meet the needs of this membership constituency

2011-2012 Charges

  • Identify educational, practice management, and other needs of young vascular surgeons
  • Develop leadership training and mentor programs for young surgeons
  • Identify ways to improve young vascular surgeon representation within the SVS leadership and committee structure
  • Identify ways to improve communication and interaction among young vascular surgeons and trainees
  • Develop Vascular Annual Meeting® educational programming for young vascular surgeons and trainees
  • Develop online practice memos on topics addressing the needs of young vascular surgeons and fellows
  • Address unique challenges faced by young surgeons through SVS communications venues including Journal for Vascular Surgery®, Vascular Specialist, VascularWeb.org®, Vascular Annual Meeting, etc.c
  • Collaborate on programs and products directed at young vascular surgeons
