Scope of Work

  • Develop Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) programs to encourage medical students and residents to consider a career in vascular surgery and continue to engage the next generation of vascular surgeons in the Society​


  • Continue and evaluate the VAM scholarship/educational program
  • Collaborate with other SVS committees on activities targeted to residents and students
  • Continue to explore ways to increase  vascular surgery awareness with first and second year medical students
  • Continue to develop ways to recruit more general surgery residents into vascular surgery 
  • Continue to engage, involve, and find additional ways for medical students, general surgery residents, and vascular surgery trainees to be involved in SVS Committees and activities
  • Further develop the VAM mentorship/shadowing program
  • Continue and evaluate the resident/student communications program, which includes e-newsletters, social media, VascularWeb, exhibits at career fairs, regional vascular meetings, etc. 
  • Further develop and promote vascular surgery interest groups
