Scope of Work

• Develop Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) programs to encourage medical students and residents to consider a career in vascular surgery

2012-2013 Charges

• Continue and evaluate Vascular Annual Meeting® scholarship/educational program
• Collaborate with the Research & Education Committee on the Introduction to Research Principles Scholarship Program
• Collaborate with the Women's Leadership Committee, Diversity and Inclusion Commitee, and Young Surgeons Committee on the recruitment and mentorship of students and residents interested in vascular surgery
• Continue to explore ways to recruit more general surgery residents into vascular surgery
• Continue SVS sections for medical students, residents, and trainees
• Further develop the VAM mentorship program
• Continue and evaluate the communications program which includes an e-newsletter, exhibits at career fairs, regional vascular meetings, etc.
• Further develop vascular surgery interest group
