Scope of Work

  • Monitor issues of special concern to members in community practice and advise Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) leadership on ways the Society can better meet the needs of this membership constituency

2012-2013 Charges

  • Identify educational, practice management and other needs of surgeons in community practice, e.g. impact of shift to employed physician model from self-employed
  • Identify ways to improve community practice representation within the SVS' leadership and committee structure
  • Identify ways to increase recruitment of community practice vascular surgeons as SVS members
  • Develop leadership training for community practice members
  • Develop Vascular Annual Meeting® educational programming for community practice members
  • Develop online practice memos on topics addressing the needs of community practice members
  • Address unique challenges faced in the specialty by community practice vascular surgeons through SVS communications venues including Journal of Vascular Surgery, Vascular Specialist, VascularWeb.org®, Vascular Annual Meeting, etc.
  • Collaborate on programs and products directed at community practice vascular surgeons
