Scope of Work

• Monitor issues of special concern to members in community practice and advise Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) leadership on ways the Society can better meet the needs of this membership constituency

2011-2012 Charges

• Identify educational, practice management and other needs of surgeons in community practice (e.g. impact of shift to employed physician model from self-employed)
• Identify ways to improve community practice representation within the SVS leadership and committee structure
• Develop leadership training for community practice members
• Develop Vascular Annual Meeting® educational programming for community practice members
• Develop online practice memos on topics addressing the needs of community practice members
• Develop Journal of Vascular Surgery® supplement on vascular surgery workforce trends/projections and their impact on all types of practices
• Address unique challenges faced in the specialty by community practice vascular surgeons through SVS communications venues including Journal of Vascular Surgery, Vascular Specialist, VascularWeb.org®, Vascular Annual Meeting, etc.
• Collaborate on programs and products directed at community practice vascular surgeons
