In 2007, Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) members began volunteering to serve two-week rotations at the US Army's Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) located near Kaiserslautern, Germany
The largest American hospital outside the United States, LRMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides medical care for coalition forces from 48 countries that are fighting the Global War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Since 2007, 80 members have volunteered
to participate in the SVS Visiting Vascular Surgeon program at LRMC.
