Timur Sarac, MD, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Elected To Distinguished Fellows Status, Society For Vascular Surgery
CHICAGO (June 18, 2008) —
Dr. Timur Sarac was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) at the 62nd Vascular Annual Meeting on June 5, 2008. He is an associate professor of surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Case Western Reserve University, Lerner School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Sarac’s election was based upon his scholarly research activities, creative professional activities and broadly recognized teaching excellence.

Dr. Sarac has published over 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as various book chapters and research-outcomes based papers. He is a Distinguished Reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery. Dr. Sarac has been awarded the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Innovator Award four times (2004-2007). He co-chaired the SVS Endovascular Symposium for three years, as well as served as course director of various SVS advanced research and carotid stent courses.
In addition to his dedication to the SVS, Dr. Sarac is involved with the American College of Surgeons, International Society for Vascular Surgery, Midwestern Vascular Society and the Ohio State Medical Society.
