Vascular Fellows Course: Current Therapies in Venous Diseas

Course Description: This course is intended to give vascular surgery fellows the ability to learn about the basics of venous disease. The goal of the course is to educate and update all vascular fellows regarding the latest theories and developments in the clinical practice of venous disease management. This program is generously supported by industry to cover the cost of the fellows travel and expenses. This program is endorsed by the APDVS and the AVF.

Main Topics:

Knowledge in venous anatomy and pathophysiology. Risk Factors of VTE and New Agents for VTE Prophylaxis Throbolysis and Thrombectomy. Pathogenesis of pulmonary embolism and current therapeutic measures.  Diagnosis and management of chronic venous insufficiency in superficial and deep veins. Proficiency in endovenous and open venous reconstruction plus valve repair.

Other Information: Send one letter of interest from the fellow and one letter of support from the program director. Registrants will be accepted on a first applied basis. Seating is limited to 25-30 fellows.
