| Course Description: |
Designed to assist physicians in gaining interpretation experience, this two-day workshop focuses on the major vascular ultrasound examinations to meet accreditation requirements. Day one concentrates on carotid duplex interpretation with additional tips on dictating vascular reports. Day two focuses on duplex interpretation of peripheral arterial, peripheral venous and renal artery exams. Skills are developed through actual case studies and interpretation simulation. The course covers both basic and advanced concepts. |

Students who successfully complete the course will be able to: 1) Demonstrate a basic knowledge of cerebrovascular, arterial, venous and abdominal vascular anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. 2) Understand the proper techniques of vascular testing and potential pitfalls that may interfere with interpretation. 3) Recognize normal and abnormal Doppler spectral waveforms. 4) Understand typical case studies in each area of vascular testing and develop the interpretation skills to generate a formal report specific to each area of testing. |
