VEITHsymposium provides vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, interventional cardiologists and other vascular specialists with a unique and exciting format to learn the most current information about what is new and important in the treatment of vascular disease. The 5-day event featured rapid-fire presentations from world renowned vascular specialists with emphasis on the latest advances, changing concepts in diagnosis and management, pressing controversies and new techniques. Registration is free for U.S. and Canadian Vascular Surgery Fellows in Training with letter from Chief of Service.

This course is designed to evaluate the proposed changes in healthcare and its impact on vascular surgery. It will review all of the pertinent vascular beds,
including the carotid arteries, thoracic outlet, upper extremity, abdominal and thoracic aortas and the venous system. In addition, the symposium will cover important areas of the vascular laboratory and essentials of coding.

Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society 20th Annual Winter Meeting

Twenty-four papers are accepted for oral presentation, with submission to Annals of Vascular Surgery. A new session, Complex Vascular Cases, will be held on January 30. Last year 12 case reports were presented in this session. Abstract submission is now closed.

2010 SVS Research Initiatives in Vascular Disease Conference

Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology 2010 Scientific Sessions

The meeting includes diverse disciplines within the arteriosclerosis, thrombosis, and vascular biology communities that allow investigators to explore areas of cross-disciplinary interests. A broad representation from many disciplines is expected and young scientists are encouraged to attend. The conference offers various awards and prizes for young investigators. Abstract are due January 11, 2010.

VIVA

VIVA features live cases, didactic presentations, and Laptop Learning activities  addressing aortic aneurysms; carotid, brachiocephalic, renal/mesenteric, aortoiliac, and infrainguinal peripheral arterial disease; and venous thromboembolic disease. VIVA focuses on medical and interventional therapy, highlighting algorithms for the use of these drugs and devices, techniques, case selection, and complications. Tuition is waived for Fellows with the submission of a case study.

The event will cover a wide variety of clinical problems related to vascular disease, including the latest advances in genetics and the most effective means of treating the statin intolerant patient. This clinically oriented program will include
case-based patient management discussions, so that clinicians can acquire the tools they need to deliver the most efficacious care for their patients.
