Erica L. Mitchell, MD, Assistant Professor Of Surgery, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, Ore., Presented Award By The American Vascular Association
CHICAGO (July 15, 2008) —
Dr. Erica L. Mitchell was presented the American Vascular Association/Lifeline Foundation E. J. Wylie Traveling Fellowship Award at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Society for Vascular Surgery on June 5, 2008. This award is presented to assist a fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery with travel and professional exchange within established vascular centers in the United States and abroad.
Dr. Mitchell is an assistant professor of surgery in the department of vascular surgery at the Oregon Health & Science University and the Portland Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital, both in Portland, Ore. She was chosen for the E. J. Wylie Traveling Fellowship Award to gain expertise from sites in the U.S. and internationally in surgical education, particularly the development of surgical skills laboratories pertinent to vascular and endovascular surgery.
The E. J. Wylie Traveling Fellowship Award provides the recipient the opportunity to briefly visit other vascular centers to stimulate academic inspiration, promote international exchange, and foster development of fraternal fellowship in vascular surgery. These objectives enhance the development of the fellow’s career in vascular surgery.
