Amy B. Reed, MD, Associate Professor Of Surgery,University Of Cincinnati School Of Medicine, Presented SVS Women’s Leadership Training Award

CHICAGO (July 15, 2008) —

Dr. Amy B. Reed was presented the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Women’s Leadership Training Award at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Society for Vascular Surgery on June 6, 2008. The SVS Women’s Leadership Training Award, supported by a grant by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., assists female vascular surgeons to become leaders and mentors in the vascular surgery specialty. It is given to a deserving SVS member who is a practicing female vascular surgeon to attend a leadership training program.

Dr. Reed is an associate professor of surgery in the division of vascular surgery at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. She also serves as the program director of the vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Reed plans to further develop her leadership skills by attending the Institute for Women’s Leadership Conferences and the Association of American Medical Colleges Mid-Career Women Faculty Seminar, as well as shadowing two female chairs of surgery at well-known universities and hospitals.
