“This is a dynamic time in the field of vascular medicine. J. Wylie Traveling Fellowship. This is quite an accomplishment because it is awarded to only one vascular surgeon each year.”
Dr. Kent is director of vascular services for New York Presbyterian Hospital Network and program director of the Joint Columbia/Cornell Vascular Surgical Fellowship. He is professor of surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Kent heads a basic science lab that is exploring the mechanisms of failure for bypass grafts and angioplasty following vascular intervention. In addition, he designed a program for retraining vascular surgeons in minimally invasive catheter techniques.
Dr. Kent completed his general surgery residency at the University of California at San Francisco and his fellowship in vascular surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School.
