David L. Cull, MD, University of South Carolina Medical School, Elected to Distinguished Fellows Status, Society for Vascular Surgery
CHICAGO (June 25, 2007) —
Dr. David L. Cull was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) at the 61st Vascular Annual Meeting on June 7, 2007. He serves as a professor of clinical surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, S.C. and a clinical associate professor of surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. Dr. Cull also is an assistant director of surgical education at the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, S.C. Additionally, he is an assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Md. Dr. Cull’s election was based upon his scholarly research activities, creative professional activities and broadly recognized teaching excellence.

Dr. Cull is a national expert in the area of peripheral vascular access for hemodialysis patients and has established one of the largest hemodialysis access programs in the country. He also has developed several hemodialysis access devices and had acquired patents on these devices. He is the author of over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts and five book chapters. Dr. Cull received the inaugural Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center Department of Surgery Outstanding Surgical Educator Award in 2005.
In addition to his dedication to the SVS, Dr. Cull is involved with the American College of Surgeons, Greenville County Medical Society, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Southern Association for Vascular Surgery and the South Carolina Vascular Surgical Society.
