Alan Dardik, MD, PhD, Yale University School of Medicine, Elected to Distinguished Fellows Status, Society for Vascular Surgery
CHICAGO (June 25, 2007) —
Dr. Alan Dardik was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) at the 61st Vascular Annual Meeting on June 7, 2007. He is an assistant professor of surgery at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Conn. Dr. Dardik’s hospital appointments include attending surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Conn., attending surgeon, director of the Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory and director of surgical research at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, West Haven, Conn. He also serves as an attending surgeon at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Conn. Dr. Dardik’s election was based upon his scholarly research activities, creative professional activities and broadly recognized teaching excellence.

Dr. Dardik has received numerous research awards including the E.J. Wylie Traveling Fellowship (2002-2003), Franklin Martin Faculty Research Fellowship (2002), Wylie Scholar in Academic Vascular Surgery Award (2002), William J. von Liebig Vascular Academic Award (2004) and most recently the William J. von Liebig (K08) award in 2006 for his research on flow related remodeling after carotid stenting. Dr. Dardik’s research has been published in numerous peer-review journals.
In addition to his dedication to the SVS, Dr. Dardik is involved with the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Angiology, Association for Academic Surgery, New England Society for Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology.
