BIOTRONIK AG is the developer of an Absorbable Metal Stent (AMS), a revolutionary leap forward in vascular intervention treatment. Contrary to a permanent stent it is designed to avoid drawbacks such as insufficient long-term vessel patency, inflammatory reaction, or stent fatigue issues. AMS provides the short-term scaffolding necessary to support the vessel during the healing process and is then absorbed, allowing for return to a more natural vasomotoric function and easier re-intervention if needed. In addition, the AMS is MRI compatible, making it the first technology to provide physicians with the opportunity for non-invasive follow-ups throughout the course of treatment to their patients. Dialog Devices Ltd is proud to present PADD for non-invasive screening for Peripheral Arterial Disease.  PADD assesses arterial blood volume changes in the foot, using infra-red light, by taking two readings with the patient supine, and another with the leg raised above the heart. Normals free from arterial disease have an arterial dilatation response when raising the leg, caused by reduced hydrostatic blood pressure in the foot, whereas this response is blunted in patients with arterial disease.
