Important Abstract Submission Information

  • The selection committee will determine at which meeting the abstracts will be presented.
  • Paper abstract submissions will not be accepted.
  • Prospective authors should review complete abstract submission guidelines and policies.

Rapid Paced Paper Session

New this year at the Vascular Annual Meeting! "Rapid Paced Paper Session" On Sunday, June 4 there will be a special paper session. Papers accepted for this session will be given 3 minutes to present, 2 for discussion, and will not be required to submit a manuscript to the Journal of Vascular Surgery. Research papers will not be eligible for this session. If you are interested in being considered for this session if not accepted on the plenary session, simply indicate “yes” consider me for the rapid paced paper session in the abstract system.

AVA Lifeline Resident Research Prize

Residents who submit a research abstract may choose to be considered for the Lifeline Resident Research Prize, sponsored by the American Vascular Association. This prize consists of a $5,000 award and a one-year complimentary subscription to the Journal of Vascular Surgery. The prize-winning work will be presented at the Vascular Annual Meeting and will be considered for publication in the Journal of Vascular Surgery.

An abstract and a complete manuscript must be submitted electronically via the official Vascular Annual Meeting submission website by January 12, 2006 at 12:00 am EST. In addition, a signed letter from the Society for Vascular Surgery sponsoring member describing the sponsoring member’s role in the project and the resident’s status in the training program where the research is taking place must be submitted by January 6, 2006, to the Lifeline Research and Education Committee, American Vascular Association, 633 N. Saint Clair, 24th Floor, Chicago, IL  60611, Fax: 312-334-2320.
