Dual or Redundant Presentation/Publication Policy
The work represented in the abstract must not have been presented, published or submitted to any other major meeting or journal. If the abstract is accepted for presentation at the Vascular Annual Meeting 2006, it is expected that a manuscript of the work be submitted to the Journal of Vascular Surgery at the time of presentation. The manuscript must conform to the Journal's policies on originality and conflict of interest disclosure. The practice of multiple simultaneous submissions of abstracts followed by abstract withdrawal from other societies after receipt of the first acceptance specifically violates the spirit and rules of each of these societies and will require a personal explanation. Authors are required to complete the conflict of interest section when submitting an abstract.
It will be considered the responsibility of the member author or sponsor of the paper to consult directly with the Program Chairman prior to submission if there is any question regarding possible duplication or redundancy of the work to be presented or published.
Failure to comply will not only result in the paper being rejected, or later withdrawn or canceled, but also could result in similar action on future submissions for presentation or publication by any and all of the authors, subject to the discretion of the Program Committee or the Editors of the Journal.
Manuscripts
Manuscript submission to the Journal of Vascular Surgery (JVS) for those accepted to present is mandatory. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the JVS prior to the meeting and no later than May 30, 2006.
Author Policy
It is the policy of the SVS that either the primary author or one of the co-authors of each abstract must be a member of the SVS. If you or a co-author are not a member, a member of the SVS must sponsor your abstract. The SVS will send all correspondence to the primary author or member sponsor regarding the submission.
