Lifetime Achievement Award
The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor SVS bestows on one of its members. Selection for this honor recognizes an individual’s outstanding and sustained contributions to the profession, SVS, and their exemplary professional practice and leadership.
Medal for Innovation in Vascular Surgery
The SVS Medal for Innovation in Vascular Surgery honors individuals whose contribution has had a transforming impact on the practice or science of vascular surgery.
Women’s Leadership Training Grant
The SVS Women’s Leadership Committee periodically awards a women’s leadership training grant for female vascular surgeons.
International Scholars Program
Provides scholarships to qualified young vascular surgeons from countries other than the United States or Canada. The four scholarships, the amount of US$5,000 each, provide the scholars with an opportunity to participate in the Vascular Annual Meeting® and to visit clinical, teaching, and research facilities in the United States and Canada.
PCORI Application Seed Grant
Directed to SVS members developing Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) grant applications. The grant is designed to support and optimize an SVS member application for a PCORI grant, especially in both PCORI and SVS Clinical Research Priority Areas.
SVS/ACS Health Policy Scholarship for 2016
The American College of Surgeons and SVS offer an annual scholarship to subsidize attendance and participation in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University, Waltham, Mass. The course takes place June 12-18, 2016. The award of $8,000, is to be used for tuition, travel, housing and food during the course. SVS Vascular Surgery Trainee Advocacy Travel Scholarship
The primary purpose of the SVS Vascular Surgery Trainee Advocacy Travel Scholarship is to provide the recipient with an opportunity to participate in Capitol Hill visits and learn more about SVS' health policy and advocacy activities. The overall aim of the Scholarship is to enhance the health policy and advocacy development of the vascular surgery trainee’s career.
SVS General Surgery Resident/Medical Student Vascular Annual Meeting Travel Scholarship
On an annual basis, SVS offers travel scholarships to aspiring vascular surgeons to underwrite expenses for attendance at the Vascular Annual Meeting. During the meeting, trainees will be able to attend scientific sessions and network with leaders in the field. SVS will provide educational programming designed exclusively for students and residents. Scholarship recipients also will have the opportunity to participate in open and endovascular simulation training, attend didactic lectures specially geared toward them, as well as participate in a residency fair.
SVS Diversity Medical Student Vascular Annual Meeting Travel Scholarship
Sponsored by the SVS Leadership Development Committee and the SVS Resident and Student Outreach Committee, SVS annually offers Diversity Medical Student Travel Scholarships to provide aspiring vascular surgeons with an opportunity to attend the Vascular Annual Meeting and to enhance the professional network of medical students from underrepresented racial/ethnic minorities within the vascular surgery specialty. During the Vascular Annual Meeting, students will be able to attend scientific sessions and network with leaders in the field to learn more about the latest treatments and research in vascular disease. SVS will provide educational programming designed exclusively for students. Scholarship recipients also will have the opportunity to participate in open and endovascular simulation training, attend didactic lectures specially geared toward them, as well as participate in a residency fair.
