Lifeline Resident Research Prize

Deadline: January 4, 2010

The Lifeline Programs of the American Vascular Association support research in vascular disease. The Resident Research Prize is intended to motivate physicians, early in their training, to pursue their interest in research and offer the opportunity to present their research at the Vascular Annual Meeting. The Lifeline Research and Education Committee will select one recipient for the Resident Research Prize each year.

The Resident Research Prize consists of a $5,000 award and one-year complimentary subscription to the Journal of Vascular Surgery. The prize-winning work will be presented at the Vascular Annual Meeting and will be considered for publication in the Journal of Vascular Surgery. Decisions regarding the Resident Research Prize will be mailed to the recipient by the end of March.

  • A member of the Society for Vascular Surgery must be a senior collaborator and assume responsibility for the research.
  • The research must be original and experimental.
  • The research must not be have been previously presented, published, or submitted for publication.

Application Procedure

An abstract and a complete manuscript must be submitted electronically via the official Vascular Annual Meeting submission Web site by January 4, 2010. The manuscript submissions must comply with the "Instructions to Authors" of the Journal of Vascular Surgery. Note: In addition to submitting the abstract for the Resident Research Prize via the website, the abstract may be submitted at the same time for the regular annual meeting program. The abstract may be accepted for presentation, even if it is not selected for the Resident Research Prize.
