SVS Vascular Surgery Trainee Section

SVS developed the Vascular Surgery Trainee Section to:

  • Help foster a community of vascular surgery trainees
  • Provide representation for vascular surgery trainees within the specialty and SVS
  • Assist vascular surgery trainees in developing leadership skills
  • Improve SVS' activities for vascular surgery trainees
How to Become a Member?

Vascular surgery trainees automatically become members of the Section when they are approved as SVS Candidate Members. Members of the Section are limited to those Candidate members currently enrolled or accepted into accredited vascular surgery residency training programs in the United States and Canada. They will remain Section members until their training is completed. Candidate membership applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Click here for more information or to apply online.

Vascular Surgery Trainee Section Governing Council

The Section's activities are overseen by an eight-member Governing Council that is elected by the Section's members immediately after each Vascular Annual Meeting (except for one Active SVS Member, Dr. Alik Farber, that is appointed by the SVS President). The Governing Council is responsible for carrying out policies and actions items adopted by the Section, as well as directing its agenda and strategies.
