Sean P. Roddy, MD, The Vascular Group, PLLC, Albany, N.Y., Elected to Distinguished Fellows Status, Society for Vascular Surgery

CHICAGO (August 12, 2009) —

Dr. Roddy was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) at the 2009 Vascular Annual Meeting® in June. He is a vascular surgeon at The Vascular Group, PLLC in Albany, N.Y. Dr. Roddy is an associate professor in the department of surgery at Albany Medical College in Albany. He is an attending vascular surgeon at the Albany Medical Center in Albany. Dr. Roddy also holds hospital affiliations at numerous regional hospitals. His election was based upon his scholarly research activities, creative professional activities, and broadly recognized teaching excellence.

Dr. Roddy has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed article and 25 book chapters and is an editor for the Annals of Vascular Surgery. He has been a principal investigator or co-principle investigator on 30 studies. Dr. Roddy has presented at multiple regional and national vascular meetings and lectured nationally on billing and coding issues. He is the course director of the SVS Coding & Reimbursement for Vascular Surgeons Course and serves as the CPT Advisor for the Society.

In addition to his dedication to the SVS, Dr. Roddy is involved with the American Heart Association, American Venous Forum, Eastern Vascular Society, New England Society for Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.
