Amy B. Reed, MD, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Elected to Distinguished Fellows Status, Society for Vascular Surgery

CHICAGO (August 12, 2009) —

Dr. Reed was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) at the 2009 Vascular Annual Meeting® in June. She is an associate professor of surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Reed is the program director of the integrated vascular surgery residency program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati. She is a staff vascular surgeon at the University Hospital, The Christ Hospital, University Pointe Surgical Hospital, Red Bank Surgery Center, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, all located in Cincinnati. Dr. Reed also is staff vascular surgeon at the West Chester Medical Center in West Chester, Ohio. Her election was based upon her scholarly research activities, creative professional activities and broadly recognized teaching excellence.

Dr. Reed has 17 published articles, 14 abstracts, 5 book chapters and given 62 invited talks locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. She is a reviewer for the American Journal of Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery, Innovations: Technology and Techniques in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and the Journal of Vascular Surgery® .  Dr. Reed received the 2008 Women’s Leadership Training Award from the Society for Vascular Surgery.

In addition to her dedication to the SVS, Dr. Reed is involved with the American College of Surgeons, American Venous Forum, American Board of Surgery, Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery, Association of Women Surgeons, and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.
