Jae Sung Cho, MD, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Elected to Distinguished Fellows Status, Society for Vascular Surgery

CHICAGO (August 10, 2009) —

Dr. Cho was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery® (SVS) at the 2009 Vascular Annual Meeting® in June. He is an associate professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and an attending surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, both in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Cho also is an attending surgeon at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Pittsburgh. His election was based upon his scholarly research activities, creative professional activities and broadly recognized teaching excellence.

Dr. Cho has published 28 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 12 book chapters or invited manuscripts and has presented 30 abstracts at regional, national and international meetings. He is a reviewer for the Journal of the American College of Surgeons and the Journal of Vascular Surgery®. Dr. Cho has received numerous awards, including the 1996 American Venous Forum/Jobst Research Award in Venous in Lymphatic Disease.

In addition to his dedication to the SVS, Dr. Cho is involved with the American College of Surgeons, American Venous Forum, Eastern Vascular Society, Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society, and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.
